Mary Patricia “Pat” Graham intertwined these traits into every facet of her life. Her relentless pursuit of her Christian faith and her undying love for her family paved the way for those around her.
Faith was an important part of Pat’s life. She strived to be an example of Jesus Christ to everyone around her. Her example can be seen in her siblings, children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She put Christ first no matter the circumstance, and her constant prayer was that those around her would know Christ’s love the way she did.
Hope was the driving force in Pat’s life. She instilled hope in those around her. Her sense of humor and positive attitude made others feel at ease and, at times, optimistic about their circumstance. From raising step-sons to grandchildren, she always gave hope for the future in circumstances that were not always perfect.
And, the greatest of these is love. Pat’s love was evident on a daily basis. The love she showed for her husband to stand behind him and support him cannot be easily matched. Her love for her children and grandchildren was a perfect picture of love in its truest form. The love she showed for those around her was the epitome of what a friend should be. Most of all, her love for her Savior, Jesus Christ stood at the forefront of all she did. She believed, and professed, that Christ was her Foundation and her Rock, and, that by His love, she was able to love others unconditionally.
As we gather today, although we will miss her physical presence in our lives, let’s not just grieve, but also celebrate her life as it was fully lived through the power of Jesus Christ.
