Born in Lincoln, Nebraska she was the daughter of Merle and Margaret Caldwell. She attended Lincoln High School. She worked for many years at Sears in both Wichita, Kansas and Humble.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church. She was a true animal lover and was devoted to her own pets as well as animal welfare causes. A voracious reader, she amassed an enormous collection of books over the years. She was particularly fond of cowboy western themed novels and movies. She once stated that the lyrics of “My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys” described her well. She loved cooking and baking and was especially talented at both. She will be remembered for her friendly nature and outlook and her loyalty to friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter Sherri Taylor and her husband George of Humble and son Terry Stanko of Kingwood, grandson Cody Taylor of Spring, sister Carol Lemirande and her husband Meryle of Loveland, CO and stepdaughter Tracy Morse and her husband Daryl of Pasadena. She was predeceased by husband of 23 years, Alan D. Morgan and husband of 24 years, William F. Stanko, sister Connie and both parents.
We are immensely grateful for the doctors of the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. They extended her life many years past the initial prognosis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center or an animal rescue of your choice.
