Marilyn Hale Grimes

Marilyn was born in Dallas, Texas on June 19, 1936 to William Riley Hale and Virginia Hallman Hale. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, attended Baylor University and graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1957 with a BS degree in Education.

While teaching elementary school in Port Arthur, Texas she met her husband, Cecil R. Grimes. They were married in Dallas in 1958. Through the years they resided in Port Arthur, Texas, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Houston, Texas, Joplin, Missouri, Singapore and Hong Kong. During years of overseas living she made many friends and enjoyed the culturess and wonderful travel experiences.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 66 years, Cecil Grimes, daughter Kathryn Howell and husband Barry and two granddaughters, Devon Velchoff and Regan Velchoff. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Diane Taylor.

Marilyn was a long time member of The First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
