Growing up during the Great Depression, L.T. was part of the Greatest Generation. He was a decorated WWII veteran who celebrated his 19th birthday during D-Day invasion of France. Trained as a combat medic, his unit fought on the beaches of Normandy, on the Battle of the Bulge and the Battle of Saint Lo.
In 2020, L.T. was honored for his service in the U.S. liberation of France and named "Chevalier" by the French Legion of Honor, equivalent to an English knight.
L.T. was discharged from the Army on August 9, 1945. Eighteen days later, he married Eva Nell Pennington. They were married for 78 years, building a beautiful life filled with love and treasured memories. Eva passed away in early 2024, and L.T. followed her 96 days later.
Known for his hard work, L.T. often held two or three jobs to provide for his family. He loved Jesus, the Astros, fishing, golf, and dominoes, but his greatest joy was his family.
L.T. was an exemplary man and Christian role model to his children: Peggy, Donald,Michael, and Roger Lloyd. He was a grandfather to 9 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren, and 4 great- great-grandchildren.
L.T. was preceded in death by his father, Thelma Lloyd, his mother Alma Teague, four sisters, two brothers , and on grandson. He is survived by his sister, Maxie Anderson.
L.T. was an ordinary man who lived an extraordinary life. His memory will live in our heart forevers.
A visitation for L. T. will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339. A celebration of life will occur Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Second Baptist Church, North Campus, 22770 US-59, Humble, TX 77339. A committal service will occur Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at South Park Cemetery, 1310 N Main St, Pearland, TX 77581.
