Judith Louise Cliffe, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022. She was blessed to be at home surrounded by her family. She is now free of pain and home with her Savior.
Judy was born on February 25, 1957, in Wyandotte, Michigan to Roy and Shirley Dombroski. However, she considered herself a true Texan. She went to school in Galena Park in La Porte, Texas. In 1976 she graduated from San Jacinto College with an Associates Degree in Nursing. She later went on to achieve a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Texas in 2002. Judy and Thomas (Tom) Cliffe were married in 1975. They were blessed over the years with 4 beautiful children and 2 grandchildren.
Judy's career in nursing was a very important part of her life. Proper care and compassion for her patients always came first. She worked in several fields in hospital nursing which included Medical/Surgical, Orthopedics, Labor and Deliver and Quality Control. Of these Labor and Delivery was her passion, where she worked at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston for over 12 years.
Judy was also a skilled crafter in ceramic and porcelain arts. Her collection of handmade porcelain dolls stand tribute to that passion. She also established many lifelong friendships with fellow crafters while living in La Porte.
In later years, Judy was beset by many medical and orthopedic issues. Because of this she retired from nursing early. Tom retired in 2016 and they were able to enjoy their retirement home they had built together in Huffman, Texas in 2005. Judy and Tom are members of the First Baptist Church in Huffman, Texas where they are blessed with many friends.
Judy was prolific with her advice. If she could share one last piece, we believe it would be "Love your family fiercely and with forgiving hearts."
Judy is survived by her husband Tom Cliffe, children Jamie Christine DeBorde, Jason Matthew Cliffe and Joshua Nathaniel Cliffe, grandsons Haiden and Gavin DeBorde, by her sister Bonnie Stutzman, and her dearest friend Donna Wilson along with additional family in Texas and Michigan. She is preceded in death by her mother Shirley May Stutzman and adopted father John Stutsman, father Roy Frank Dombroski and son John Thomas (JT) Cliffe.
The family wish to express their thanks for all the love, prayers and support that have been received during the last few weeks that Judy spent in the hospital.
A visitation for Judith will be held Friday, February 4, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339, followed by a funeral service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
