Jason Garrett Jamieson, 51 of Kingwood, Tx, passed away on August 27, 2021. He was born on October 2, 1969 in Winchester, MA to Jerry and Linda (Garrett) Jamieson. Jason graduated from Paul VI High School, Chantilly, VA and received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Dayton, Dayton, OH where he secured a full ride scholarship to play varsity soccer.
Jason married Amy (Zimmer) Jamieson on August 16, 1997. Together they were able to share 24 wonderful years of marriage which produced many years of laughter, love and an occasional prank or two!! Five children resulted because of all the love Amy and Jason shared - Jackson (19), Oliver (17), Jasper (11), Lauren (11) and Lucy (8). It was this family that brought the most joy to Jason’s life and he would be able to share with anyone a story about any one of them.
Jason was predeceased by his mother Linda (Garrett) Jamieson and his brother Jeffrey Gaye Jamieson. He is survived by his father Jerry Gaye Jamieson of Fairfax, VA.
Jason was also the beloved uncle to 5 nieces and 3 nephews. At family events, Jason was the first one to round everyone up to play a round of UNO, Pass the Trash or Euchre - a family favorite. Jason could make a game out of anything and was always fun to be around. Jason also spent countless hours in the boat taking kids out on tube rides, ice cream boat rides and teaching children to water ski. He also adored his “in-law family” and jokingly referred to all the in-law members as the “outlaws”. Many times Jason coordinated the family gatherings for Thanksgiving and Christmas. He will be missed by so many friends and co-workers.
As a sports lover, Jason enjoyed spending his downtime by watching a Capitals hockey game, watching golf and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys on a Sunday afternoon. He also enjoyed playing golf - especially club tournaments with some of his very best friends. He has even been known to win one or two! But alas, his favorite sports were the ones he would play with his family. He loved playing tennis with his girls and soccer and golf with his boys. Occasionally, Jason was spotted on a pickleball court with his family.
He was passionate about his long standing career within the steel industry. Throughout Jason’s nearly 30 years within the industry, he has met many who are now proud to call him not only a business associate, but a friend.
Throughout all his accomplishments, his biggest achievement and biggest love of all was his family. He has said on more than one occasion that “God put me on this earth to parent Jackson, Oliver, Jasper, Lauren, and Lucy and be the best husband possible to his beloved wife, Amy”. He will be missed by many but his spirit will live on by all those who know him.
Funeral arrangements will include a visitation on Thursday, September 2 at Kingwood Funeral Home from 4pm to 8pm. On Friday, September 3rd at 2pm will be the funeral service at St. Martha Catholic Church, Porter, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts for Jason be directed to the University of Dayton, 300 College Park, Dayton OH 45469-7051 (givenow.udayton.edu). Amy will work with UD to establish a memorial for Jason.
