He was a graduate of Kent State University and a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He retired after a 37 year career in chemical sales working at Allied Chemical and National Starch and Chemical Company.
He was a Rotary Club member, a member of DeMolay, and was an all-star first baseman for his high school baseball team. His interests included travel, Civil War history, reading, a Cleveland Browns fan, wine and a golfer.
He was raised in the Methodist faith but attended St. Martha Catholic church.
Jeff was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Devon Fitzgerald.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Shirley A. Sellers. His children are Rebecca and husband Dan Fitzgerald, Betsy and husband Dave Spilis, and Jeff and wife Mary Sellers. Grandchildren are Megan and Sean Fitzgerald and Erin and Dave Sellers. His sisters are Madeline and husband Tom Beard and Christine and husband Bruce Lotzbire, and nieces and nephews are Roger Beard, Brian and wife Joanie Beard, Darin and wife Patty Beard, Jennifer and husband Chris Christy, Rhonda and husband Andrew McIlquham, and Warren Lotzbire.
