Aurora Lanzona

Funeral Services for Aurora Lanzona, 85, of Kingwood, Texas, will be held at 11:00am, Monday, June 13, 2022 at St. Martha Catholic Church, 4301 Woodbridge Pkwy, Porter, Texas. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, at 10:00am.

Ms. Lanzona was born on December 8, 1936 in the Philippines to parents, Isaias and Josefa Lanzona and passed away on June 8, 2022 in Kingwood, Texas.

Ms. Lanzona first migrated to Chicago, Illinois, where she lived for more than 40 years, and then moved to Houston, TX after her retirement, over 15 years ago. Aurora was a dentist by profession but opted to work as assistant for several physicians at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chicago. She has always served the church in every capacity, in Chicago and in Kingwood, mostly as sacristan and Eucharistic minister.

She is a devout parishioner of St. Martha Catholic Church and going to daily mass is the first thing in her mind when she wakes up, always mindful that there will be a Lector, EM, and altar server for that morning mass. Aurora attends Eucharistic Adoration whenever she can and she is a part of the 9 AM Sunday mass usher team.

Aurora loves to cook, to plant and to watch her Filipino soap operas. She shares her cooking with the priests and seminarians, friends and neighbors. Most of all, her love of family is beyond measure. She was never married but she never failed to reach out and generously support everyone in the family who is in need. She is the 9th of 10 children and blessed with countless nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces and a few more extended families.

She is survived by an elder sister, Luisa Solano and a younger brother and sister-in- law, Sergio and Charito Lanzona. Her nieces and nephews are from the families of Noche, Leano, Cardenas, Suarez, 3 Lanzona families, Solano, and Correa.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents, five sisters, 2 brothers and several nephews.

The family’s request that donations in her memory be made to associations dealing with diseases of the heart, cancer and diabetes.
