Sandra Parker Roach (Sandy,) 68, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 14th , 2019 at home with her loving husband at her side. Sandy was one of three children born to the late Charles and Mary Emma Parker in Kingsport, Tennessee. She was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennet High School. Sandy began her dedicated career in 1969 with Tennessee Eastman Co. in the Steno Pool to which she excelled. She received several promotions throughout her career at Eastman. In 1989, she was promoted to Executive Assistant to the CEO and held this position until retirement in 1997. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Kingsport.
Sandy met her devoted husband, Lynn at Tennessee Eastman Co. They were married on February 14th, 1979. Their love and commitment to each other was unyielding. One of their favorite activities was visiting Hilton Head Island and they spent many vacations there.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Charles Lynn Roach, her brother, Charles Parker and wife Linda, her niece, Tammy Maupin and husband Jimmy, her nephew Chaz Parker, all of Kingsport, TN, her step-children, James L. Roach, Stephen Andrew Roach and wife Suzanne, Charles Keith Roach and wife Judy, and Kerri L. Eads and husband, Keith, all of Paducah, Ky, beloved grandchildren, nieces, nephews, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to have known and loved her.
She was preceded in death by mother and father, Mary Emma Parker and Charles Parker, her loving sister, Marilyn Parker, and her beloved niece Tara Leighann Parker all of Kingsport, Tennessee.
Sandy was an animal lover and devoted many countless hours to feeding and caring for all of God’s creatures. She found comfort and happiness in nurturing all animals and helping to provide them a safe environment to live. It was not uncommon to look out the window of her house and see deer, ducks, skunks, raccoons, birds and cats eating their daily meal and finding safety in her back yard. She touched many lives and was a nurturing soul that provided much care and love to her family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18th, 2019 from 12:00 to 2:00pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Burial service follow at East Lawn Memorial Park in the Garden of the Good Shepherd.
