It is difficult to condense a life well lived for 70 years into such a short paragraph. Ron excelled at basketball at Castlewood High School in the 1950’s. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 13 ½ years. Ron touched hundreds of thousands of lives all over this world. He was a successful and respected business owner with the Amway Corporation, whose business provided he and Toby the opportunity to travel the world and meet with several U.S. Presidents. He regularly traveled to the UK, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. He and Toby often visited beautiful and exciting places including Australia, Switzerland, Russia, New Zealand, Norway, Hawaii, France, Italy, and the Caribbean islands. He helped countless people achieve financial freedom and reach their life goals. He taught all who knew him, by his example, how to follow and love Christ unwaveringly and how to lead a life of wisdom and integrity. Second only to God and his family, his passion was fishing. He has fished all over the world and in every ocean, but his favorite place to fish was right here on the Clinch River. Ron loved people and was abundantly blessed with friends and business associates. He cherished his relationship with each and every one. Even though he was a busy man, Ron enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, like raising a garden, hunting, spending time with his family, and relaxing by the pool with his loyal dog Sampson. He may have left this earth, but the legacy of love of family, following one’s dreams, and passion for enjoying the simple things will live on in all whose lives he touched.
