Paul Junior Bailey, 80, of Kingsport went to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at his residence. Born on October 15, 1933 in Greeneville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Graden and Norma Estepp Bailey. Mr. Bailey was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother who cherished his family. He was a charter member of Emmaus Baptist Church of Carter’s Valley for 27 years. His hobbies were going to church and “mowing grass” on his John Deere. He was the manager of Imperial Terrace Apartments for over 50 years. In addition to his parents, Graden and Norma Estepp Bailey, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Bailey. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Mary Inez Hammonds Bailey; daughters, Sharon Diane Bailey Hicks and her husband, Curtis Ray, and Brenda Bailey Starnes; sons, Paul Jeffrey Bailey and Shannon Bailey; grandchildren, Jami Morrison and her husband, Lacy, Justin Hicks, Marty Starnes and Eric Bailey; great-grandchildren, Cody Morrison, Caitie Morrison, Parker Starnes, Henley Marie Starnes and Kimber Willow Couch Bailey; sisters, Iva Mae Brown, Ina Matthews, Betty Johnson and her husband, Billy, Helen Bible, Sue Morgan and her husband, Pete, and Fay Hilton and husband, Donnie; brothers, Carl Bailey and his wife, Dorothy, Walter Bailey and his wife, Wilma, and Steve Bailey and his wife, Wanda; sister-in-law, Betty Joe Bailey; many nieces and nephews; and his special friend and Pastor, Dr. Phil Kidd.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening, August 31, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Emmaus Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 8:00 p.m. with Dr. Phil Kidd officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 1, 2014 in the Garden of Memories of East Lawn Memorial Park. Honoring as Pallbearers are Eric Bailey, Justin Hicks, Marty Starnes, Tim Hammonds, Lacy Morrison and Cody Morrison.
