Madeline Minor Bush, age 94 of Kingsport, entered into the glories of Heaven on Monday, May 13, 2019. Madeline was born on September 13, 1924 in Big Stone Gap, VA to the late Hiram M. Minor and the late Bessie Blevins Minor. On March 27, 1948 Madeline married her most cherished friend and love of her life, Elmo Bush, and after making a lifetime of memories together and raising a family, he preceded her in death in 2006.
Madeline devoted her life to her family. She loved taking care of her family and the love that she has for them continues on throughout eternity. Madeline retired from the Sullivan County court house: Register of Deeds department. Madeline was a member of Doran Addition Freewill Baptist Church for 60 plus years.
Madeline was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 58 years, Elmo Bush; son, Jeffrey Bush; three brothers, Elmer Minor, John Minor, and Dewey Minor; two sisters, Lula Kozakowski and Janice Terry; and two brothers-in-law, Joe Kozakowski and William Terry.
Left to cherish Madeline’s memory are her four brothers, Kyle Minor, Harlis Minor and wife Ellen, Luther Minor and wife Leona, and Fred Minor and wife Angie; sister, Francis Riggs; Grandson, Josh Bush and wife Ashley; great-grandchildren, Hudson Bush and Hannah Bush; daughter-in-law, Joyce Bush; a lifetime friend, Bonnie Harris; and several loving nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the organization of your choice.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services for Madeline will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 11:00 am at East Lawn Funeral Home with Reverend Harold Shoemaker officiating. There will be special music performed by “By Grace”. Madeline will be laid to rest at 12:00 pm, following the service at East Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
