Judy Elaine Potts, 66, of Kingsport, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at her residence. Born on May 26, 1948 in Kingsport, she was the daughter of the late George Carter and Dorothy Buchanan Carter.
Ms. Potts loved crafts. She worked for Hawkins County Press and most recently was employed with Big Lots in Kingsport. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who cherished her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Short and her fiancé, Gary Mohr; grandchildren, Brittaney Potts and Jordan Short; her very special great-grandson, Tyler Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Chloe Mitchell and Landon Williams; brother, Don Carter and his wife, Brittney; sisters, June Ramey and her husband, Tom, and Lois Mooneyham and her husband, Wayne; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; several aunts and uncles; and her special friend, Wilma Price.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening, March 15, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Monday morning, March 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Garden of the Mausoleum of East Lawn Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers are Jordan Short, Michael Speers, Shane Mooneyham, Jonathan Quillian and Chester Sutherland.
