Gregory "Greg" Alan Darnell

Gregory “Greg” Alan Darnell, age 55, of Blountville, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 11, 2014. Greg was born to James Paul Darnell and Lois Ann Bowen Darnell on February 10, 1959 in Kingsport. Greg enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and was known for his cooking abilities. Greg was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed.

2 Corinthians 5:8 “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”

Preceding Greg in death include his mother, Lois Ann Darnell; maternal grandfather, Andrew Bowen and paternal grandparents, Walter and Lola Darnell.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 26 years, Alisa Darnell of the home; daughter, McKenzie Darnell of Blountville, father, James Paul “Boze” Darnell of Blountville; grandmother, Rosella Bowen of Kingsport; a sister, Melissa Wood of Blountville; two nephews Tanner Wood and Hunter Wood of Blountville; and his best friends Bobo and Sammy. Also surviving are numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 16, 2014 in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
