Bobby G Cross

Bobby Gerald "Bob" Cross, born August 14, 1943, departed this life January 28, 2024 in Kingsport, TN after a bout of poor health. He was born in Kingsport, TN to Robert and Margaret Hale Cross and lived there the entirety of his life.

Bob was a 1961 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School, managed Greenacres Package Store for many years, then drove for Clemons Transportation prior to retirement. He was a past member of the Dobyns-Bennett Quarterback Club and was a great supporter of the Indians football team. He had played nearly every competitive sport in his youth, and enjoyed pheasant hunting, bowling, and playing golf in his young adult years, plus watching sports on TV in his golden years, especially the Atlanta Braves and the Dallas Cowboys.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jackie Eades Cross. He is survived by his daughters, Christina Hearn and Nicole Clay, grandchildren Kayleigh Hearn, Chloe Clay and Logan Clay and brother James "Jim" Cross, in addition to cousins Larry and Mike Hale, 6 beloved nieces and nephews, and many treasured friends and colleagues.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday February 10 at 11 AM at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4997 Memorial Boulevard, Kingsport, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please donate to a charity of your choice.
