Sandra Nell Holland (Sandy), age 61 of Killeen, Texas passed away on Monday, December 25th, 2023, peacefully in her sleep at home with her husband and two sons by her side. She was born on May 21st, 1962, in Pasadena Texas to Robert Sweeney and Jonell Chapman Sweeney. Her family then moved to Humble Texas, where she grew up one of six children, five girls and one boy. It was there she met Kenneth Ray Holland in April 1979 and later married in March of 1983.
After marrying Kenneth, the two of them together spent the next 23 years traveling the world with his job in the United States Army leading them to settle in Killeen Texas. Together they raised two sons, Joshua Grant Holland, and Nathan Richard Holland.
Throughout her life Sandy held many jobs, but none as important to her as being a mother. She spent her days at home as a full-time mom and wife, her most proud and rewarding title which she loved being more than anything in this world. Sandy was known for living life to the fullest. She found joy through simple pleasures, such as, staying up late snacking while watching a movie, chatting with family and friends and spending quality time with them. She had a special way of reaching people in a deep and positive way, leaving an everlasting impact.
She took special joy in helping Kenneth in taking care of his soldiers. When his soldiers had any kind of personal issues, she always knew how to handle the problem. They loved her and always thought of her as a mother.
Her hobbies included collecting vintage glass and buying jewelry. She often joked every time her husband made her mad, she would buy a new piece. Perhaps there was a method to her madness in finding ways and reasons to get new jewelry; as anyone who knows her, knows just how much she loved her jewelry. She also loved watching the hummingbirds and the view of beautiful flowers that lined the outside of their home. Her memory will forever last through each one.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Ray Holland, her two sons, Joshua Grant Holland, and Nathan Richard Holland, her sisters Kay Killgo, Diane Foy, Kristi Craig, and Angie Faulkner and her brother Brad Murray, along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many other family and friends. Preceded in death by her mother Jonell Chapman and her father, Robert Sweeney.
