Services for Salvador Garcia Sr., 83, of Killeen will be 9:00am Wednesday December 31, at First Baptist Church in Killeen. Burial will be at 11:00 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Salvador Garcia, Sr., was called home by our glorious father in heaven on December 25, 2014. He was born September 7, 1931 to Michaela Garcia in Skidmore, Texas. He happily married Lilly Reyna Garcia on July 8th, 1954. He entered the United States Army July 30, 1953 and was honorably discharged August 31, 1972. He was survived by his wife of 60 years, Lilly Garcia of Killeen, Texas, 4 children, Salvador Garcia, Jr. (Gloria Garcia), of San Antonio, Texas. David Garcia (Penny Garcia) of Killeen, Texas. Daniel Garcia (Cynthia Garcia) of Killeen, Texas, Rosalie Flores (Uciel Flores) of Killeen, Texas, 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, a huge loving family and great friends.
He served his country for 22 years and was honorably discharge. He loved music, parties, family and friends. He loved meeting new people. He was very helpful, always lending a hand. He was a hard worker, never lacking in providing for his family. He was very straight forward. He loved food, including upside down pineapple cake and chile rellenos. He loved boxing and football. He was a boxer in the army. He loved his roosters and all his animals, each had a name. He was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
The family will receive visitor from 4-8pm at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
