Peggy was a beautiful soul, with a laugh that captivated all, especially the love of her life, David. They married 40 years ago and were still just as in love on the day she passed as they were on the day they wed.
Peggy was born to be a mother. Together, Dave & Peggy may have only had 2 children, Adam and Jennifer, but together they raised so many children; there are too many to mention by name. Peggy was known as the "baby whisperer" and she wrapped her retirement time around her grandchildren. Long before she was a mother, she was a very involved Aunt and was a second mother to many nieces and nephews who meant the world to her. Her very best friend in life was her sister Phyllis and her favorite time was spent laughing and cooking with her. She lived her life by the motto, "Love is the only house big enough for all the pain in the world, so come on over to my house" and "Family isn't always blood." She will be remembered as "Momma Peggy" by countless people, and she loved them all as though they were own. She and Dave raised many children, but the strongest love of all was the love they had for each other.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, David W. McDonald; her children, Adam McDonald and Jennifer Hemingway (David, Sara, and C.J.); Sister, Phyllis Rehman and Brother Steven D. Young.
Peggy was preceded in death by her mother and father, Betty L. Young and Donald E. Young; 4 Brothers, Steven Dohner, Clinton Young, Patrick Young, and Michael Young, and 1 Sister, Cindy Young.
A Visitation for Peggy will be held Monday, January 30, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 S. Fort Hood St, Killeen, TX. A Funeral Service will occur Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home.
