Paul Waldemar Leismann, 90, of Killeen Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on November 5, 2023. Paul was born on October 14, 1933 in Kronweiler Germany. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Paul set an example of strong work ethic, strength, and resiliency for his children, soldiers and those who knew him. He was a serious and stoic man but was known to also have quick wit and humor and a mischievous grin which brightened the lives of those around him.
He is survived by his brother Dieter Leismann of Ellweiler; his son Paul Michael Leismann (Elvira); his daughter Patricia Leismann Schlieper (Carl); his daughter Pamela Leismann Perlick (Brad); his daughter Casandra Leismann Harrington (Stewart); six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Luise Pauline (nee Tisch) Leismann; his beloved wife of 46 years, Ursula Theresa (nee Zermahr) Leismann; his brother Werner Leismann and sister Lore Palamone.
Paul proudly served in the US Army, retiring as a Sergeant Major (SGM) after a distinguished career of 26 years. His military service was a testament to his dedication and commitment to his country. He was awarded various medals including a Bronze Star.
In his free time, Paul enjoyed hunting, baking German Bauernbrot, working on his property, walking daily to stay fit and sitting on his front porch enjoying the breeze, watching his livestock and various wildlife, including his chickens.
A memorial service will be held at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, located at 1615 S Fort Hood St, Killeen, TX 76542, on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 9:30 am. Military Funeral Honors will follow the service at 11:00 am at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery, located at 11463 Tx-195, Killeen, TX 76542.
