Mary Lou Ayers Crawford, 79, of Killeen, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Visitation will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 3801 Cunningham Rd, Killeen, TX. A Funeral Service will follow the Visitation at 11:00 AM at the Church. Private Graveside Services will be held for the family.
She was born on October 3, 1944, to John and Ann Ayers in Baltimore, Maryland. Growing up, she lived in many places including Panama, Baltimore, Maryland, Ft. Meade, Maryland, Battle Creek, Michigan, Kosse, Texas, and settling in Killeen, Texas. She married Thomas Alden Crawford, Jr. on December 22, 1962. They were married for 61 years. Mary Lou was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren. After working for the Killeen Independent School District, the gas company, and the Killeen Chamber of Commerce, she worked for many years as a bookkeeper with BMC West Building Materials. She loved and appreciated serving on the Fellowship Committee at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was creative, loving, caring, and kind. She had a talent for painting and various crafts, and most importantly, loved talking (!) and laughing with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Ayers.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Alden Crawford, Jr. of Killeen; son, John Crawford and his wife, Natalya, of Richmond, Texas; daughter, Kimberly Crawford Syptak of Bryan, Texas; two grandchildren, Billy Crawford and Anna Crawford of Richmond, Texas; two brothers, David Ayers and his wife, Pam, of Cedar Park, Texas and Bobby Ayers of Tomball, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of lifelong friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Killeen, Texas in her name.
