Funeral service for Lucy Sarah Elizabeth Vanderpool, 90, of Killeen will be Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Southside Church of Christ on Trimmier Rd. in Killeen with burial to follow at Killeen City Cemetery. She was born to Myrtle and Wallace Shields on August 7, 1926 in a logging camp in Alikchi, Oklahoma. She was raised and educated in Oklahoma, Williams Arizona, and Weed Patch California.
She had two sons, Terry and Glenn Vanderpool. She moved to Bakersfield, California where she began cosmetology school graduating in 1954. She dressed hair for over 20 years, she owned and operated her own shop, including the Base Beauty Shop at Edwards Air Force Base in California.
Survivors include her two sons, Terry Vanderpool of Killeen and GlennVanderpol and his wife Louise of Copperas Cove, two grandchildren Brian and Christine, and six great-grandchildren.
