Ken went to school in North Richland Hills, Texas where he graduated in 1976. In high school he was active in football and on the rodeo team.
After high school Ken attended Tarrant Junior College, Weatherford Junior College, and Tarleton State University where he graduated in August 1981.
Ken met Theresa, his soulmate, while at TSU. They married July 16, 1983. They had two boys, Lenton and Lucas. Ken was a wonderful husband and Dad. He supported his boys in everything they did. He coached baseball and drove many miles to stock shows.
Ken was a teacher at heart. He taught Ag in Temple, Killeen, and Copperas Cove touching the lives of hundreds of students before he retired in 2013. He continued to teach part-time and full time for five more years. He was loved by many of his students who consider him their second Dad.
Ken was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church for many years.
He had a gift of gab—he could talk to anyone about just about anything. He always had a smile to share, and a story to share. He was blessed with many good friends.
Ken loved his family, his sheep, and fishing. What he loved the most was being G-Pa.
He is missed greatly by Theresa, his kids, Lenton and Shay, and Lucas and Krysanne. Missing G-Pa are Laiken, Koen, and Ledger. Missing their big brother are Myrna and Mark Binion, and Kris and Robbie Ballard, and his brother by heart, Bob Gray. Missing her son-in-law is Alice Glasgow.
Ken is preceded in death by his grandparents, Curtis and Winnie Barnett, Bill and Velma Sullivan, his parents, Glenn and Glenda Barnett, and his father-in-law, J.T. Glasgow.
