A Celebration of Life for Jimmie Darnell Barao 76 of Killeen will be on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 10 Am at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 in Waco at Oakwood Cemetery at 11 AM.
She was born to Claude A Henson, Sr. and Jewel Mae Golden on April 25, 1946 in Waco. She passed in Temple on August 5, 2022. She married the love of her life Frank Barao April 6, 1963 at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco. She was a long time resident of Killeen and Harker Heights. She started her career as a telephone switchboard operator at Mid-Tex Telephone Company. She held several roles over the years at Centel and Sprint as the company name was changed over the years. She was a member of The Telephone Legends Club. She also worked and later retired from the City of Killeen Water Department.
In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo, watching The Price is Right and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Frank, a Step-Son Bobby Barao(Sherry) of Las Vegas and Daughter Dana Barao of Irving. Also surviving are grand children Barbara Swanke (Kevin) and Charles Cutler (Tonya) as well as 5 great grandchildren and 10 Great - Great grandchildren, her brother C.A. Henson (Carolyn) sisters Hazel Eads (James “Cogo”) and Quincy House (Perry) as well as many nieces and nephews.
