Jesse Phillip Reyes

Jesse P. Reyes went home to meet his maker on September 22, 2015. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00am Tuesday September 29, 2015 at St Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church in Harker Heights. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco. Visitation will be at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen 5:30- 7:00pm and a rosary services at 7:00pm.

Jesse was born February 5, 1920 in Waco, to Andres and Flora M. Reyes. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all of his family. His parents, wife Antonia, his sisters Sara Reyes, Elisa Rodriquez, Beatrice Olivarez, Juanita Lemos, and grandsons Phillip and Isaac Reyes preceded Jesse in death.

Jesse worked for Sears 33 ½ years including the position of assistant manager in Brownsville. After retiring from Sears, he was employed by Dillard’s Inc. for 16 years and then retired again. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1946 and served as Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator, and District Deputy in Brownsville. He was a past member of Rotary Int’l and St Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church.

Jesse leaves behind his son Ruben (Luz) Reyes of Lake Jackson, two daughters Marie (Stephen) Caruso of Harker Heights and Veronica Nieto of Brownsville: brothers Joe Reyes of San Antonio and Andrew Reyes of McAllen; sisters Carmen Hernandez of Antioch, CA and Flora Mendoza of Waco; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donation be made to St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church Building Fund, 1000 E. Farm-to-Market 2410, Harker Heights, TX 76548
