Jamal was born on December 23rd 1979 in Detroit, Michigan. With heartfelt reflection, we celebrate him as he transitioned from this life on November 18, 2023.
Jamal was raised in Killeen, Texas. He attended New Covenant Outreach and enjoyed playing the drums. He graduated from Killeen High School. He was an active member of the Killeen Youth Group (KYG). He maintained friendships from there throughout his adult life. Jamal was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He transitioned to civilian life and worked for the Austin Fire Department, City of Austin, and Travis County. He recently worked in real estate and owned a successful investment business. Jamal was pursuing advanced degrees through Michigan State University.
Family was the cornerstone of Jamal’s life. He was a Michigan superfan and travel enthusiast. He left us many fond memories to cherish in our hearts until we see him again.
Jamal is survived by his wife, Arlena, and beloved children: Ja’dazia Goodman, Olivia Tull-Williams, Talia Williams and Jamarcus San Juan; Parents, Tommy and Rashidah Williams; Sisters, Trina Green (Dexter II) Kelli and Vanessa Williams; Grandparents, Genevieve Williams (Roosevelt-deceased), Shafeqah Abdullah (Ahmad Abdullah Sr. deceased); Uncles, Anthony Williams (Mabel), Walter Williams (Linda) and Ahmad Abdullah Jr. (Adrianna); Aunts, Khalilah Muhammad, Alesia Williams, and Ayesha Boyd (Earnest) and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
A Service for Jamal will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home. Following the Service will be a Committal Service with Military Honors at 3:00 PM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
During this time of loss, we wish to acknowledge with our sincerest gratitude the outpouring of love, sympathy and prayers we have received from our church family and many friends. May God bless you all abundantly.
