Harriet C. Foster, 73, of Killeen passed away in Killeen, Texas on April 1, 2023. Harriet was born in Wilmington, Delaware on July 13, 1949 to Raymond Warner and Lois Phelps Warner. Harriet was the youngest of three children. She had a brother, Melvin and a sister Mary Ann.
Harriet went to public schools in Wilmington, and she enlisted in nursing school through the army program. She completed her schooling as a 2nd Lt. Once she enlisted in the regular Army, she was promoted to Captain. During her military career, she spent time at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C. , three years in a hospital in Italy and completed her 14 years of service at Fort Hood, Texas. She was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Medal and Overseas Medal and Reserve Medal. Harriet taught nursing at Central Texas College for 28 years, and she retired with her professorship certificate. Her hobbies include gardening, raising goats, her dogs, motorcycles and traveling across the United States.
Harriet is survived by her husband, Robert Weidinger, stepson Robby, two grandsons, Justin and Devin, and 3 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Harriet will be held Friday, April 14, 2023 at 9:00 AM at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home, 1615 S. Fort Hood Street, Killeen, TX. Following the Celebration of Life will be a Graveside Service at 11:00 AM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, Killeen, TX.
