Services for Donald Richard Brown, 67, of Temple will be Friday, April 1, 2011 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen. Burial will follow with full military honors at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Mr. Brown died Saturday, March 26 in a Temple hospital.
Donald Brown was born Feb 21, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio to Harold Richard Brown and Lillian Louise Kulisek Brown. He was raised and educated in Hinckley, Ohio where he graduated from high school. He received an Associate Degree in Telecommunications from Central Texas College. He served more than 22 years in the United States Army including tours in Korea and Vietnam. During his service he received the Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Silver Star among others. He retired from the Army at Fort Hood in 1986. Donald married Patricia Ann Asmus April 28, 1990 in Temple. After retirement he was a square dance caller for the Double R Squares in Round Rock, served as President of Texas State Callers Association and was a record producer for Circle D records.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.
Survivors include his wife Patti Brown of Temple, daughter Beverly Bohuslar and grandson Zachary Bohuslar of Seagoville, one brother, Dennis Joseph Brown and his wife Kady of Wadsworth, Ohio.
The family will receive friends for visitation and refreshments 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
