Delois Ann Culp Hannon, 83, graced this world with her presence on November 23, 1938 in Belton, Texas. Ann graduated to glory at her home in Harker Heights, with her family by her side, on October 10, 2022. This quick process caught many by surprise, but as her dad would have said “the old gal’s body just wore out.”
She was born to Robert Lee Culp and Velma Mae Truelove Culp and had one brother Hilton Lee Culp, and a half-sister Dorothy Mae Belcher, and nephew Dalton Lee Culp, who all have preceded her in death.
She was 1957 graduate of Belton High School. She attended a business college in Bell County until she got her Mrs. degree when she married Robert Don Sutton on December 21, 1957.
They moved to Texas A&M at College Station while Don finished his degree. They both graduated in 1959, Don with a Bachelor of Business in Marketing Building Products and her with a PHTS degree (Put Hubby Through School Degree).
They settled in Nolanville and started a family. They had two children Ronald Don Sutton of Fredericksburg, and bride Kimberli, and Randall Alan Sutton of Temple and his bride Lauren.
In 1973, Ann married Allen Leslie Patton. They both obtained their real estate broker licenses in the mid 1970’s and owned a successful real estate business, ERA Action Real Estate until selling it to Colonial Real Estate in 1998. They enjoyed many years of marriage until Pat died in 2007.
After Pat’s death, she went to a high school reunion where she happened upon an old classmate, James A. (Jimmy) Hannon III. As they both had lost their spouses, soon love would spark and they were married on April 8, 2008. They were able to spend 14 and a half beautiful years together traveling around the world to places such as Halifax Nova Scotia, Alaska, Panama Canal, Jamaica, Hawaii, England, the British Isles, and throughout the United States.
For all who knew Ann, knew that she enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a bright light in a dark world. Her sweet spirit, love of her family and friends, her love for shopping, and love for traveling will never be forgotten. There are so many stories that live in our hearts, she will never be far away from any of us.
