Charles Leo Pratt

Born on a serene day in Farmington, Missouri July 16, 1943 to Patrice and Amos Pratt, Charlie Pratt made his entrance into the world within the comforting walls of his family's home. He passed away at home on October 4, 2023. Little did the world know that this humble beginning would herald the arrival of a man who would leave an indelible mark on the lives he touched for 80 years.

Charlie proudly donned the uniform of the United States Navy in 1962, embarking on a journey of service and dedication to his country as a seaman. But it was in 1975 that he found a different kind of calling when he crossed paths with the love of his life, our beloved mother, Dorothy. Their connection was instantaneous, and they united in matrimony that very year. In an act of remarkable love and courage, Charlie embraced an instant family, consisting of five children. While he later officially adopted the younger children, his heart claimed the oldest as his own.

Life was not always an easy road for Charlie as he navigated the responsibilities of raising a large family, but he faced each day and night with unwavering strength and love. He was a firm, yet tender presence, guiding his children with a steady hand and a heart filled with love. During the holiday seasons, he would take on a second job, selflessly working to provide a magical and memorable celebration for our mother and the entire family.

Charlie had a passion for the outdoors, finding solace and joy in fishing, hunting, and camping. His support for his family was unwavering, always encouraging and championing their pursuits of happiness. Above all, his love for our mother was the guiding light of his life. Everything he did, whether apparent or hidden, was motivated by his deep and abiding affection for her.

He had a knack for storytelling, sharing tales of his own upbringing, including the classic narrative of walking three miles to school barefoot—a story that always brought smiles and laughter to those who heard it. As the years passed and Charlie grew old with our mother, he witnessed the blossoming of their legacy in the form of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren.

Together, our parents, Charlie and Dorothy Pratt, were blessed with a vast family tree that spans generations, including 5 children, 11 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Their love and guidance will forever resonate through this family tree.

Charlie is survived by his children, Becky Facincani, Frank Pratt (Angie Pratt), Tina White (Ryan Orr), Daniel Pratt, Sharon Norbeck (Mike Norbeck), and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward his legacy of love.

Their grandchildren, Lisa, David, Chad, Kaity, Kristy, Kaymen, Kali, David, Deagyn, Jymaesa,Panda (Lora), Bud (Jeff-Michael), Cato (Christian), Kristen, Cameron, Kiki, Zak (Kurtis), Micheal, Mykaila, Anyssa, Anthony, Sara, Braxton, Bently, Hayden, Roman, Brooklyn, Oakley, Zandreiah, Azereigha, Xaileigha, Iris, Charlotte, Jordan, Evan, Aubrey, Andrew, Bryson and Andy.

He is reunited in eternity with his loving wife, Dorothy Pratt, as well as Trevor Rogers and Dominique Rogers. Together, they embark on a new journey, leaving behind a legacy of love, courage, and unwavering devotion.
