Bobbie Sue Young, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and wife of 43 years to John Denver Young passed away on July 14, 2018 at the age of 84 at Metroplex Hospital in Killeen, Texas with family by her side. An only child, Bobbie was born to Tylene and Bethel Edwards on April 12, 1934 in Copperas Cove, Texas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Young, and her son Johnny Bob Young.
Bobbie is survived by her children, Tonia and husband Bradley Cockrell and Terri Young, grand-daughters; Tamara Cockrell and Faith Young, grandson Chris Cockrell and great grandchildren Bryson, Breylan, and Sadler all of Killeen, grandson Jonathon Young of San Antonio and grandson Blayne Cockrell of Florida.
After graduating from Copperas Cove High School, Bobbie perfected her cosmetology skills and owned her own beauty shop. A creative type, Bobbie designed store fronts, worked as an interior designer, and supported her husband's business Young's Sporting Goods.
Bobbie served as an adopted mother to many of her kids' friends. Always available to listen and provide support when required, Bobbie had a knack of giving a push when required and positively impacted the lives of many.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Killeen City Cemetery, 2408 Rancier Avenue, Killeen.
