Alton Lee Garrett

Alton Lee Garrett Jr. “Lee” was born January 29th, 1942 as the son of the late Linnie Ruth Garrett and Alton Lee Garrett Sr., brother to his late, sister Kay Garrett and surviving sister Joy Garrett.

Lee graduated from Killeen High School in 1961. He served in the Army National Guard and the Army Reserves from 1962-1967. He worked as a home builder for 35 years in Killeen and Copperas Cove before becoming a truck driver for 26 years.

Alton Lee Garrett Jr. was joined in holy matrimony to Joyce Ann McKey Garrett in 1993. Together they have five beautiful children: Beverly Ann Osborne Jaronitzky, Johnny Lee Simmons, Elizabeth Ollie Simmons, Robin Amber Lawrence, and Kristen Marie Garrett. Lee was also blessed with 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

He had a full and blessed life. He was a wonderful, devoted husband and father. He was Joyce Garrett’s soulmate. He passed peacefully on December 24th, 2022.

Visitation will be at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home, in Killeen, on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, from 6-8 PM.

A Service will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home-Killeen in the Chapel. A Committal Service will be held after at 2:30pm at Killeen City Cemetery.
