Benigna Zapata Gomez, age 74, of Chowchilla, California passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Benigna was born in Ysleta, Texas on April 3, 1950, to Jose and Fidela Zapata. Benigna was very independent, friendly, outgoing person. She loved to help others and also loved to travel.
Benigna is survived by her daughter Isabelle Melendrez; and her son Jesse De La Cruz and her six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Benigna is preceded in death by her parents; Jose and Fidela Zapata. Her brother; Domingo Zapata Sr., and nephew; Michael Zapata.

A viewing for Benigna will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, a rosary from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, at Palm Memorial - Kerman Chapel, 538 South Madera Avenue, Kerman, CA 93630. Following burial at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 S Cornelia Ave, Fresno, CA 93706.
Serving as pallbearers are Domonic De La Cruz, Rudy Negrete, Michael Negrete, Isaiah Medina, Joshua Medina and Jose Manoz.
