It is with heavy hearts that we are sad to announce we lost a dear father, husband, brother, uncle, great uncle and grandfather.
He leaves to mourn his wife Esther Gan, kids Emmanuel Gan, Charlene Gan, Daniel Gan, Andrew Gan, Rebekah Gan, Rachael Gan, daughter in law Jenna Gan, grandkids, Arthur Gan, Corvin Gan, Joah Gan, Lusyan Jordens. Sister Pat Casasanta, nieces Lisa, Rita, Lori, great niece Jordana, nephew Tony, great nephews Tanner and Nolan. As well as his good friends Wayne, Sam, Glen and many others.
Ray loved his life. He always had so much to do and not enough time in a day to get it all done. He loved his business that he had created at a early age, which was Ray Gans Seasonal Services, he would mow lawns, trim hedges, some light gardening, to helping people move or cleaning up yards, to small building demolition, and taking care of Kenora businesses. He also did snow and ice removal. In the summer he loved to spend as much time as he could at the family camp, it was his paradise. It did not matter if it was sunny or storming, camp is where is loved to be. He loved it so much more when family and friends were out there with him. Even when he was at camp he always had projects on the go, tinkering with something, making the camp a golf course, planting and tending to his gardens to taking naps in the old recliner. But all of that was never work for him, that was his way of unwinding and relaxing.
Ray always had such a big heart and always liked helping people.
He gave people chances they might not have had.
Ray was always on the go and ran on "dad time" but when he was needed, he was always there. If any of his kids needed him he was there. Or he'd make sure to touch base and make sure everything was OK. As he always did with everyone he cared about. For many of us he was a best friend, a confidant, always willing and ready to give advice on anything and everything. His wisdom was always sought out and highly regarded. Ray was always so proud of his kids and grand kids and he never let us forget that.
