Passed peacefully in Grassy Narrows, Ontario at his home at 53 years of age.

Predeceased by his parents Gabriel and Elizabeth Kokokopenace, his grandparents Joseph and Lucy Kokokopenace and Adam and Mary Keewatin, his siblings Ronald, Bessie, Wayne, Curtis and his best friend Carlo Graham. He was also predeceased by his uncles Felix Daniel, Simon Kokokopenace and his aunt Jessie Assin.

Baxton will be sadly missed by his aunts Susan Fobister, Eveleen Petiquan, Rita, Brenda, Clara Kokokopenace, beloved brother to Sheila (John), Frazer (Ruth), Beatrice (Wayne) and Clayton. Cherished Uncle to Curtis, Kirby, Roderick, Erica, Lynn, Frazer, Matilda, Rutger, Stella, Joseph, Breena, the late Kimberly, Kayla, Clayton and Kerry. He will be sadly missed by his granddaughter Caidence Necanapenace. He will be sadly missed by his many cousins and close friends.

Baxton was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family especially his best friend Carlo.

Wake service will begin on Wednesday at Grassy Narrows First Nation at the Trappers Building. Traditional funeral service will take place on Friday October 25, 2024, officiated by Roy Napish at 10:00am. Burial to follow in Grassy Narrows First Nation.
