James Longe

He was predeceased by the love of his life, Jenny Longe, his mother Margaret Longe, his father Joseph Longe, his step-mother Netty Longe, his bothers Patrick and Stuart Longe, his sister Lilly Longe and his first wife Isabelle Longe.

He will be forever missed by his two children, Karen Tsuchino (Michael), Dianne Williamson (Dan). He is survived by his three sisters, Julie Hixt, Jeanny Longe, and Leita Longe. He is also survived by his pride and joy, his eight grandchildren Benjamin (Lyndsay) Bruce, Amanda Bruce, Christopher Bruce, David Williamson (Caitlin), Alexandra Williamson, Joshua Tsuchino (Jen), Jonathon Tsuchino and Victor Tsuchino and two great grandchildren Rylan Williamson and Rowan Bruce.

Jim was born in Kenora on November 19, 1932 to Margaret and Joseph Longe.

Jim loved to fix things. His children were often with him, either working on a “new” truck that he was building, or in the basement learning how to skin beavers. He also loved working on old outboard motors that he had acquired. Jim worked for Boise Cascade until his retirement. He had a trap line near Ignace that he visited every winter for several years. He married his first wife in 1955 and together they had two children, Karen and Dianne. He remarried in 1988 to Jenny King. Jim and Jenny were rarely found apart from each other until Jenny’s death in 2016. Jim was fortunate enough to be around for the birth of his two great grand children Rylan Williamson and Rowan Bruce, whom he adored. He will be forever missed by his loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lake of the Woods District Hospital for their care. A special thank you to nurses Lori, Adelle, Allan and Char, as well as Dr. Carlisle, Dr. Wiebe and Dr. Bowerman for their attention during Jim’s time in hospital.

Celebration of Life will be held at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11:00 am with Pastor Cathy Giroux officiating.
