With great sadness, we announce the passing of Glen Kent, a devoted father, brother, uncle, nephew, and community leader, who left us on September 24 at 55. At the TBRHSC after a long battle with cancer.
Residing in Wabaseemoong Independent Nations, Whitedog, Ontario, Glen dedicated his life to serving his community. He proudly served as Band Councillor from 1999 to 2024, championing the well-being and progress of his people.
Glen's compassion and kindness inspired others. He volunteered his time and energy to various community initiatives. Glen was outgoing, charming, and caring, bringing joy to those around him. With his quick wit and playful humour, Glen loved to joke around with friends, creating unforgettable memories. His vibrant personality, infectious laughter, and unwavering kindness touched countless hearts.
Glen is survived by his loving wife, Catherine M Cameron, and his children, Martella, Kaleigh, Marty, and Acelin. He was a proud papa to his grand babies Maddox and Maddyn they were his pride and joy. And his fur baby Jughead that was always by his side. And fur baby Pascal. His siblings: Audrey Mandamin, Jack Scott, Jay (Josephine), Kelvin (Barb), Marilyn, and James (Tonia), Jacqueline (Harvey) and his nephews, Jay Kent Jr, Ayden Mandamin, Tony and James, Erik, Therein, Benji, CJ, Johnny, Patrick, his nieces: Ashley, Jay-lynn, Jaycey, Jayde, Andrea, Emma, Hannah, Erykah, Jaclyn, Dee-Dee, Linda, Lindzy, Teesha and Michelle. His uncle Phillip (Gladys) Kent, and aunties, Geraldine, Sandra (Tom) Scott, Mary Jane (Charles) McDonald, Joyce and Emily Scott, Cousins: Bruce, Marcel (Rina), Waylon, Pauline, Phillip Jr., Bonnie and Joey Mandamin (Christine). His mother in law: Loretta Cameron, Sister in laws: Rebecca McDonald (Darren), Amelia and Allysa Scott. Brother in laws: Greg Strang, Chris Cameron, Marlen and Mason Scott. His extended nieces, nephews and cousins too numerous to mention, whom he cherished deeply. He also leaves to mourn his step mom, Rose Kelly, whom he loved and cherished profoundly and who raised him as her own.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Linda Kent; his sister, Karen (Jason) Uncles, Jimmy Scott, Maurice Muckle Jr.; aunties Jessie, Deborah, Rhonda, and Valerie Scott and Linda Muckle, Lorraine Major, Loretta White (Bird); and his cousins Gary C., Eric, Leroy, James, Steven and Keith Scott, Samantha, Shauna, and Crystal Scott; his niece, Sondra Mandamin; his nephews Joel Mandamin, Dante Kent and Sebastian. Father in law: Robert "Bob" Scott, Brother in law: Darryl Savoyard.
A passionate community advocate, Glen worked tirelessly to improve the lives of those around him. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the positive changes he brought to his community. In memory of Glen, the family will distribute green ribbons to be worn on the arm, promoting awareness of liver cancer.

A wake service will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at 1:00pm at Glen Kent's residence, Whitedog, Ontario. A wake service will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 11:00am, at the WCWA Building. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 11:00am with Pastor Robert Wittmeier officiating with cremation to follow.
Rest in peace, Glen. Your bright spirit, generous heart, and unforgettable laughter will never be forgotten.
