Donovan Joseph, age 53, of Pawitik, Ontario passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre.
Donovan leaves behind his partner Michelle Cowley of 27 years and his children Sinew (Darcy), Unique (Merwin), Kwezas (Magwa), Angel (Kemper) and his one and only son Swayde who he called "the Da Manz", his granddaughter Neeno and grandson's Xavi and CJ who he called his "BeBe". His mother in law Roseanna Cowley. His Parents Ferdinand Sandy and his paternal grandparents (predeceased) Mary Adeline and Frank Sandy Sr., his uncles Frank Sandy Jr. (Colleen), Francis Sandy, Lance Sandy and Innes Sandy, his aunties Sally Sandy, Sharon Sandy, Darlynn Lightning (Darren), Janice Redsky, Margie Sandy Meekis (John). His brothers Rick, Bruce, Leon, Herman, and Ferdinand Jr., his sisters Marilyn, Sheryl, Sylvia and Lori. His uncle Steve Joseph. Predeceased by his uncle Alan Redcloud and his auntie Evelyn White and Edna Whitefeather and his Mother Donna Mae Joseph. His sisters Charlotte (Archie), Ginette and Tammy. Donovan will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins who he loved dearly. His best friends Jeffrey White and Gerald Mandamin.
He graduated in 1998 from Baibombeh Anishinabe School. Donovan was very talented in many ways, especially in fishing and operating heavy equipment. He loved magic and sharing his talents with others, he was known as Ozaawaa Magic, Donny and Superman. Donovan was avid Vegas Golden Knights fan.
On Friday November 1st 2024 a Wake Service will be held at Northwest Angle 33 Dog Paw at 1:00pm. A traditional service will be held on Saturday November 2, 2024 at 10:00am. Will be officiated by an Elder with cremation to follow.
