She is predeceased by her father Fred Green, sister Carolyn Comegan, granddaughter Shairae Munroe, uncles Richard, Herman, Johnny and Charlie, aunties Norma, Shirley, Rhea, Diane and Pearl.
She is survived by her mother Nancy Rice, husband Danny Strong, children Anthony (Gwen), Rebecca, Joseph, Rochelle (Allan), Feather (Ryan), Vanessa, Dina and Logan, grandsons Emmett, Xavier, Gerald and Exavius, granddaughters Amiyah and Payton, sisters Ann, Marilyn, Pearl and brother Clayburn and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews too many to mention.
Debbie had a passion for fishing, she enjoyed being out on the river with her husband Danny. She enjoyed cooking, she was an amazing cook and was often cheffing up fancy dishes. She also loved hiking, hunting and picking blueberries and wild flowers. Debbie had many hobbies including playing guitar, singing, travelling and shopping. Everyone who knew Debbie knew she had a great sense of humour, she was always telling jokes, she would make everyone in the room laugh. She had the most beautiful personality. Debbie loved her pets, especially her cats, she would name all her cats “putty”. She was so proud to be a Kokum to all her grand babies who she loved so much. Debbie will be greatly missed by so many.
The family would like to thank The Doctors and Nurses at Lake of the Woods district hospital for keeping Debbie comfortable, especially the Palliative Care Nurse Char. We would like to thank the Chief and Council of Shoal Lake #40 as well as the Niisaachewan Anishinaabe Nation.
Wake will be held at the Norman Community Club starting at 12:00 pm on Thursday October 8, 2020 and Friday October 9, 2020. Funeral will be on Saturday October 10, 2020 officiated by Pastor Frank Kowal.
