Cindy Joy Pahpasay
Cindy, a resident of Grassy Narrows First Nation passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at her residence.
She was predeceased by her mother Mary Harriet Pahpasay, auntie Elizabeth 'SPUT' Copenace, brothers Robert Pahpasay and Nazareth Kwandibens, sisters Harriet McDonald, Candy Copenace and nephew Kanyon Redsky-Mainville.
She is survived by her sons Gage, Kylleon, and Lyric, father Charles Copenace, grandmother Orpha Copenace and family, brother Arnold Pahpasay, sister Holly Pahpasay and her family, Elaine Pahpasay (Sammy Skeid Sr.) and their family, J. David Pahpasay (Helen) and their family, sister Cassandra Redsky-Copenace and her family, Nadya Kwandibens, sister Serena Copenace and her family, Chuck Copenace and his family, sister Gloria Jack-McLure and her family, brother Manley Wapioke and his family. She will also be greatly missed by numerous extended relatives from the Pahpasay/Papassay, Copenace, Mandamin, Keewatin, Bald Indian Bay family and brothers, and Payash families.
She is also survived by Arnold Pelly aka "Dad", close relatives and special friends Ryan Pahpasay, Taryn Maracle, Cori Maracle, Fawn Copenace, Mike Fobister, Lucy Fobister, Jane Pahpasay and Debbie Ropp.
Cindy worked in many positions and with many people throughout her lifetime. She worked at the Kinew Daycare, Migizi Wazazon, Community Mental Health Program, Grassy Narrows First Nation Forest Firefighters, she also enjoyed playing hockey and volleyball where she made lifelong friends.
A wake service will begin held Monday, June 6, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Super 8 - Minis Hall, Kenora, Ontario. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Super 8 - Minis Hall with cremation to follow.
