Bobby Kyle Strong

Mr. Bobby Kyle Strong passed away on October 22, 2011 at his residence in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was a band member of Grassy Narrows, Ontario.

He was born August 25, 1982 in Kenora, Ontario.

Bobby was a happy and cheerful person. He enjoyed spending quality time with his children, family and friends. Bobby also enjoyed doing art work. He volunteered his time at the Elementary Schools in Winnipeg and he enjoyed singing with the Grassy Narrows Drummers. Bobby was a strong believer of his cultural/traditional teachings/practices.

Bobby is survived by the mother of his children Ashley Jack and his children Tyrel, Daymen, Tyren, and Jermayne Strong. His common law wife Doris Jesmer and her children Dominique and Damian Jesmer, mother Maureen Ann Strong, favourite aunts Bernadette Payash, Angela “Rabbit” Strong, brothers Kevin Noel Strong (Valentina), Eli Thomas Strong, and Ian Clarence Strong.

He was predeceased by his father Clarence Robert Swain, grandmothers Sarah Strong and Catherine Swain, uncles Thomas, Norman, Walter, Charlie, Ernest Strong and Roger Cameron, aunties Maryanne Strong, Colleen Swain and cousin Janine Fobister.

Also left to mourn Bobby’s passing are his grandfathers James William Kelly and Isaac Kabestra, aunties and uncles: Donna Cool, Grace Redsky (Cecil), Jimmy Cameron (Zuba), Billy Cameron, Dorothy Cameron (Arnie), Sheila Copenace (Howard), Linda Cameron (Kevin), Ernie Cameron (Kelly), Sherry Cameron (Leslie), Geraldine Cameron, Anna Cameron, Cathy Cameron (Garnet), Ina Swain (Andrew), Clifford Swain (Jackie), Douglas Swain (Rhonda), Sarah Jane Strong (Leo), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to Perry Fontaine and his family and everyone from Sagkeeng, Manitoba and Fort Alexander, Manitoba.

Wake Services will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and also on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Minnow-Say-Win Building in Grassy Narrows, Ontario starting at 9:00 a.m.

Traditional Services will be held on Friday, October 28, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Minnow-Say-Win Building, Grassy Narrows, Ontario with Elder Leslie Paishk officiating. Interment to follow at the Grassy Narrows Cemetery.
