Ashley Dawn Neniska

Ashley was born and raised on a farm on School Road in Kenora, Ontario. She was the only child of Tommy & Sharon (Tittlemier) and she made them wait for years for her arrival. Ashley's favourite memories of her childhood were of the incredible parties her mother hosted on every occasion. The extended family was large and there were always many family interactions and games. Growing up in the bush meant that Ashley spent plenty of time in nature, if she wasn't wandering in the woods, she was reported to have been getting into trouble with her friend Amy, the Wiebes, the Sauves, Denise, Tracy, and Heather as well as relatives Carmen, Stephanie, and Samantha.

Ashley suffered the tragic loss of her mother at 16 years old. Knowing the fleeting potential of life, Ashley loved those close to her fiercely and would have done anything to assist or defend her loved ones. Daughter, Mother, Partner or Friend, Ashley had a way of making you feel special.

Whether for relaxation or to win a tournament with her dear Dad, one of Ashley's favourite things to do was fishing. Her daughter will now take the spot on the boat as Captain.

On her father’s heels from a very young age, Ashley was raised to be a gearhead and she gravitated towards anything with wheels and a motor. This passion eventually led her to fulfill her dream of building a racetrack in her hometown. Ashley sought out and befriended her twin flame, Anthony Leek and together in 2017, they made history by opening Lake of the Woods Speedway.

Ashley started her work at Seven Generations Education Institute in February of 2018 as an Administrative Assistant. She was one of the first to greet and welcome staff, guests, and students as they entered the building.

Ashley is survived by her two children, Avery and Alison, her father, Tommy (Linda), her fiancé Anthony Leek and his son Zachary. Everyone: family, friends and the community at large are in shock and reeling from the devastating loss of this beautiful firecracker!

On February 4, 2024 at 11:00 am, please join us in celebrating the life of this wonderful woman at Seven Generations Education Institute. Luncheon to follow. We strongly believe Ashley would have wanted a celebration, so please leave the black suits and dresses in your closet and dress in happier, more comfortable clothing! We also believe she would have wanted you to skip the flowers and put your hard-earned money towards The Heart and Stroke Foundation or Lake of the Woods Speedway (Kenora Motorsports Entertainment Ltd.) or a charity of your choice.
