Roger Bruce Barber

Roger Bruce Barber, age 85, of Acworth, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. He was born on May 15, 1938, in Winder, Georgia to the late Benjamin and Curtis Barber. Roger served proudly in the United States Army. He was also strong in his faith and was a Deacon at Mount Olivet Baptist Church. Roger enjoyed reading, dance, puzzles and games. He also enjoyed collecting coins. Most of all Roger loved his family and wanted to spend as much time with them as he could. Roger was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Roger is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Mary Barber, sons; Bruce Barber (Melane), Greg Barber (Lynn) and Chris Barber (Jennifer), grandchildren; Jacob Barber, Amy Barber, Ben Barber, Emmie Barber, and Jeremy Barber.

Roger is preceded in death by his brother; B.H. Barber, his sisters; Frances Paige and Ann Hoshall.

A visitation for Roger will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152. A service will be held following the visitation on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 3:00 PM. The burial will occur Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia 30118.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mount Olivet Baptist Church.
