Ricky Nelson

Ricky grew up in Acworth, Georgia and was active in sports, school and the community.. He graduated from the University of Georgia where he turned his love for the environment into a long career in turf management. He retired as the Horticulturist of his hometown Acworth, Georgia.

Ricky married his high school sweetheart and dedicated his life to providing for his family. He was passionate about music, was a great guitarist, and was most happy while quietly enjoying the lake.

Ricky is survived by his wife Ellen Nelson; sons Stephen Nelson, Taylor Nelson and brother Larry Nelson.

Ricky's celebration of life and memorial service is Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from10:00 am to 11:30 am at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152. A catered reception will follow.
