Mitchell Thomas Chandler, age 89, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021. Mitchell was born July 15, 1932 in Tallapoosa, Georgia to Lem and Zelma Chandler.
Mitchell is survived by his wife, Vivian West; his son Stan T. Chandler; and his daughter Wanda C. Rogers; his granddaughter Kya Branan Camp, his grandson Zachary T. Chandler, his great grandson Daniel S. Branan and his great granddaughter Trinity F. Branan. Mitchell was preceded in death by his first wife of 62 years Sara Ann King Chandler; his brother Millard Chandler and his sister Betty Jo Holcomb.
Mitchell was retired from Cobb County Board of Education where he taught for 31 years at Due West Elementary and Pine Mountain Middle School. In his spare time, Mitchell enjoyed traveling, gardening, and cooking. He was also a man of faith and a longtime member of Kennesaw First Baptist Church. To know Mitchell was to love him and those memories will be cherished by all who had the honor of knowing him.
A chapel service for Mitchell will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Perry Fowler officiating. A visitation will occur Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. Mitchell will be laid to rest in Pineridge Memorial Park.
