Judy Gail Nash-Ellis, age 80, of Acworth, Georgia was welcomed into God’s loving arms on Monday, November 4, 2024. Judy was born on April 27, 1944, in Layfayette, Georgia, the daughter to the late Gordon and Edna Brown.
Judy graduated from Lafayette High School in 1962. Following high school, she attended the Patricia Stevens Career College in Atlanta, Georgia.
Judy and former spouse, James Nash married in 1965. Though their relationship wasn’t permanent, they had 2 sons together and remained in touch throughout the years.
Judy married Daniel Ellis on October 10, 1999, in Siesta Key, Florida. The couple enjoyed 25 years of marriage. They loved each other dearly and enjoyed many travel adventures together. Daniel cared lovingly for Judy during the course of her illness.
Judy was a beloved wife, mother, and Mimi to her two grandchildren. She loved her family fiercely and enjoyed spending time with them. Judy also enjoyed traveling and particularly loved visiting San Francisco, France, and Germany. Judy was an avid gardener and loved hummingbirds. She tended to them in her backyard garden.
Judy was a civil servant for 32 years. She worked as an underwriter and later as a Credit Branch Chief for the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Judy retired from the US civil service on April 30, 2010.
Judy is survived by her husband, Daniel Ellis, and her 3 children: son, Todd (Janet) of Marietta, Georgia; son, Chris (Debi) of Kennesaw, Georgia; and 2 grandchildren, Brandon, and Emily; and stepson, Dustin of Queens, NY.
The visitation for Judy Nash-Ellis will take place at one o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will follow visitation at two o’clock in the afternoon.
