Jimmy Ronald Lindsay of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014. He was born February 07, 1934 in Birmingham, Alabama. He was the son of the late Troxie and Louise Lindsay. He was preceded in death by his wife Ronda Taylor Lindsay and son Brent Lindsay.
He is survived by a daughter Joni Hodge and granddaughter Samantha Hodge of Canton, Ga., a son Bruce Lindsay (Patti) and three grandchildren, Joshua and Cheston Lewis, and Wendy Williams, and five great grandchildren of Woodstock, Ga., two brothers Stanton (Claudeen) Lindsay of San Marcos, Ca., Travis Lindsay of Temecula, Ca., 4 nephews and 1 niece. He is also survived by his long time friend and companion Shirley Morgan who he loved dearly and who has been a blessing to the Lindsay family and to all who know her and Shirleys daughter Donna Ledford.
He played football, baseball and basketball for Ramsey High School in Birmingham, Alabama and attended the University of Florida and graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he played college football.
He became a successful entrepreneur in retail grocery and leasing and was an avid and long time golfer.
Viewing is at the Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, Ga., from 4-6 p.m. on Friday May 16, 2014. Services will be held at the Winkenhofer Chapel on Saturday May 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Jimmy will be laid to rest at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta, GA.
