Jimmie Lee Shipley

Mr. Jimmie Lee Shipley, age 55, of Kennesaw, GA, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017. Mr. Shipley was born on January 7, 1962 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the son of Woodrow Wilson Shipley and Hettie Shipley Rodriguez.

Jimmie spent the all of his life here in the Cobb County area. His working career was spent as a truck driver for several different lumber trucking companies, the majority of his career with Williams Brothers Lumber. Jimmie was an avid Nascar fan, his favorite driver was the great, Dale Earnhardt Sr. and later, of course, Dale Earnhardt Jr. His family meant everything to him and he especially loved being a grandfather to his four precious grandchildren. Jimmie was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend; he will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jimmie is preceded in death by his father, Mr. Woodrow Wilson Shipley. He is survived by his loving wife, Paula Shipley; his mother and step-father, Hettie Rodriguez and Albert J. Rodriguez; two children Jimmy Lake Shipley, wife Kristin, of Acworth, GA., and Jessie Shipley of Dallas, GA; a brother, Mike Shipley of Kennesaw, GA; four grandchildren, Autumn Orengo, Malina Shipley, Micah Orengo, Gavin Shipley, and Morgan Mayo; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Jimmie Shipley will be held at four o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, October 5, 2017 in the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with Mick McLaughlin officiating.

A visitation with the family will take place from one o’clock in the afternoon until the time of service on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the funeral home.
