He was a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church in Brandon, MS and was retired from the trucking industry with over 40 years of service having been a driver, dispatcher and a yard manager. Mr. Haskins was also a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U. S. Marines.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sarah H. Haskins; children, Gerald A. Haskins, Jr., Anita Haskins; brothers, Robert Dale Haskins, James Gordon Haskins; 2 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Alisha Haskins; nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday September 7, 2013 at Bethel Baptist Church, 128 Bethel Church Road, Brandon, MS 39042, at 2 PM with Rev. Wayne McGee officiating.
The family will receive friends between the hours of 6 until 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
