Evelyn Jeanette Holcomb

Jeanette was born February 26, 1939 to the late Effie Bell and Rev. Willard Patterson. Jeanette took great pride in her family, and loved them all dearly. She was a minister of the gospel most of her life, writing and singing gospel music for over 50 years and also wrote many beautiful poems. Jeanette was of the Pentecostal faith and had been serving as the Assistant Minister of Music in her son’s church; she had been working towards forming a church choir. For 15 years she had diligently served with New Beginnings Food Outreach Ministry, she was always reaching out to assist anyone in need.

Along with her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by a son Rev. Franklin Donald Holcomb Jr.

Survivors include, her loving husband of 55 years Rev. Franklin Donald Holcomb, two sons Dale Holcomb and wife Marsha of Taylorsville, Rev. Dwight Holcomb and wife Brandie of Acworth, six grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren. Also surviving, a brother C.W. Knight, and sister Dean Gunter.

A Celebration of Life will be held 3:30 PM, Saturday, March 9,2013 at Sonshine Baptist Church in Acworth, with Rev. Jeff Crowe, Rev. Greg Farist, and Rev. Dwight Holcomb officiating. Interment will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery in Acworth, GA.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 8, 2013 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM, at Sonshine Baptist Church.
