Ed Hamm, Sr., 87, of Kennesaw, died Saturday, October 25, 2014. Funeral is Tuesday, October 28, 11am at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Egner officiating. Burial will also be on Tuesday at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations have been requested to the Wounded Warrior Project at PO Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675 or woundedwarriorproject.org in memory of Edward Ray Hamm, Sr.
Mr. Hamm was a retired mechanic and a member of Harvest Baptist Church. His stint in the armed services occurred during WWII, a period in history that created what is known as the “Greatest Generation.” Ed will be remembered by family and friends, as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by a daughter – Marie Baxley.
Survivors include his wife Catherine Hamm, son Rickey Hamm, daughters Charlotte Hamm, Christine Secatore, April McDaniel, Jill Smothers, son Edward Hamm, Jr., and daughter Elizabeth Terry. There are also 2 sisters, 22 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild that survive Mr. Hamm.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
